Last year Pool Refs joined a wonderful team (Team Relentless) for the Relay for Life 2013 in Plano, Texas.
This year Pool Refs wants to announce their own team: Pool Referees! (How clever haha)
We will still be working with Team Relentless (shout out to captain Nadia Sherwin and her husband Robert Sherwin!)
What is Relay for Life? Relay is an organized, community based, overnight walk where patrons camp out around a track. Members of your team take turns walking the track. Teams usually set up a fundraising booth…rather they sell baked goods, raffle tickets, prizes, other food and drinks, or our personal favorite…the bead track counter. For every lap you receive one color bead and for every mile (4 times around the track) you get another color! Or for every lap you can pick colored beads that correspond to a certain cancer. Most people grab the colors that represent the special people in their lives that they have either lost to cancer, fighting cancer or in remission. Click here to go to Relay’s website.
How you can get involved is to donate to our team! (Or Team Relentless) All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society to help fight back against cancer! Donate here to Team Pool Refs
