You may remember our post about Pool Referees involvement in Relay for Life 2014 at John Paul II High School in Plano, TX.
To recap what this post said…Relay for Life is a 12 hour walk/fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Pool Referees was excited to have their own booth for this May 9th event… but alas, the Pool Refs Team will be on a much needed family vacation!
We would still love it if you would donate to the American Cancer Society! Pool Referees is still registered as a team and can still fund raise even though we won’t be there at the actual event. You can also donate to our partner team, Team Relentless, if you would like! Any amount is greatly appreciated!
Almost everyone’s lives has been affected by some sort of cancer and this is your chance to do something! If it’s finding an event near you and joining everyone for the walk or donating online, whatever suits your fancy!
The 12 hour event taking place at John Paul II High School in Plano is not the only venue holding Relay for Life. There are other venues all over the United States as well on May 9th so if Plano is to far find a venue near you! At the Relay enjoy the Survivor Lap, the Caretaker Lap and then walk as much as you want for 12 hours. If you can’t camp overnight, you can leave whenever you get tired. There are all sorts of activities and different booths and prizes you can win all night! I donated to Best Buy’s booth last year to get a raffle ticket to win a mini iPad! There are all sorts of baked goods and companies like Dickey’s BBQ sell food and most if not all the proceeds go to the American Cancer Society!
We hope you can make it out to the event even though Pool Refs can’t. Support cancer and help us beat this thing once and for all!
